Contest Schedule

  • 08:00 am - 08:30 am: Welcoming and Check-In - Derrick Hall, Room 227
  • 08:30 am - 09:00 am: Complementary Breakfast - Derrick Hall, Room 227
  • 09:00 am - 09:30 am: Walk to the lab, Derrick Hall, Room 231, explain contest rules and hand-out the practice problem
  • 09:30 am - 10:00 am: Finish the practice problem
  • 10:00 am - 15:00 pm: Programming Contest (Complementary snacks will be provided during the contest)
  • 15:00 pm - 16:00 pm: Break and social time - Derrick Hall, Room 227 (Complementary lunch will be provided)
  • 16:00 pm - 16:45 pm: Award ceremony
  • 16:45 pm to 17:00 pm: Group Photo in front of Alkek Library

Contest Format

Contest Major Rules and Information

  • This contest is open to all registered students.
  • Students will compete in teams of three.
  • You are allowed to bring any printed material with you as long as it fits in your allotted space. NO thumb drives with code!
  • You will NOT have access in any form to the internet. Please do not try to be innovative.
  • Each team will have access to one provided computer. All other electronics in all forms will need to be stowed prior to contest. This includes ear buds.
  • The format of the contest is ICPC judged problems. If you have never done this, see the website for links to practice problems.
  • The contest is judged based on successfully submitting problems to the on-line judge and having your answer accepted. You are penalized for the time it took you to solve it and the number of tries it took to solve it.
  • You should not interfere with the contest and must do what the contest admins ask you to do. Be mindful of talking too loudly.

  • Come rested, hydrated and ready to code.
